50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind.

Hey Everyone :)

Something that I found quite interesting, so I thought that I'd share it with you.

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
- Im 19 atm, and I think that I'd probably be around that age if I didn't know.

Which is worse, failing or never trying?
- Never trying, because then you'd never know.

If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
- Because we feel the need to do what is expected of us, and not what we want to do.

When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
- Yeah, I tend to say one thing, and maybe not go through with it.

What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
- Everyone's stresses and worrying about insignificant things.

If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
- Working in the sea, maybe as a marine biologist.

Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?
- Im doing what I believe in, I love what I do.

If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
- I wouldn't wait for things to happen, and actually make them happen.

To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
- I believe that I have controlled the way that I've gone through school and college, and the University that I chose and the people that I'm with. Im lucky as I haven't had people pressuring me onto a specific path.

Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
- Doing things right, as you can achieve better things, and right things by doing things properly.

You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire.  They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend.  The criticism is distasteful and unjustified.  What do you do?
- Tell them that she is my friend, depending on what they said I'd either tell my friend, or not if its unworthy of it.

If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
- Smile! Always smile, everything is better when you smile!

Would you break the law to save a loved one?
- I wouldn't kill, but some laws, yeah I break to save a loved one.

Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?
- Yeah, in a lot of art I sometimes wonder whether the artist had insanity which allowed them to create the artwork.

What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
- Whenever I'm in my room, even when I'm busy, I have to have a programme on for the noise, not music, a programme.

How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy?
- Because people have different definitions of what makes them happy.

What one thing have you not done that you really want to do?  What’s holding you back?
- I really want to go abroad on holiday, I went on holiday when I was about 3, and I don't remember any of it. I'd love to go back to them places to see if it would help me remember. Money and university are holding me back.

Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
- Grudges against people that I no longer have any contact with, but I just can't seem to let go of the grudges.

If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?
- Probably Australia, as it fascinates me, or France, as its still close to England and I wouldn't be far from my family and friends.

Do you push the elevator button more than once?  Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?
- Yeah, I always do. And no I don't think that it moves any faster, but it may turn up faster than you thought it would.

Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton?
- A joyful simpleton, you'd be happy and being a genius wouldn't matter.

Why are you, you?
- Because I am, because this is how I'v grown from all of my experiences.

Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
- Yeah, I think so.

Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you?

- Going camping every weekend with a huge group of my parents friends. Is special because I can still remember how excited I was and how much I enjoyed it.

At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive?
- Getting my first job, be it just a summer, waitressing job, learning how to motivated myself.

- Because they are so passionate about what they believe in.

Would you be willing to reduce your life expectancy by 10 years to become extremely attractive or famous?
- No way! Beauty and status aren't important.

When is it time to stop calculating risk and rewards, and just go ahead and do what you know is right?
- When you're passionate about it, when you know!

If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake?
- Because people feel that making a mistake is failing, not learning and growing.

What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
- I wouldn't be as shy with people that I've only just met, I'd be a bit more silly, like I am with my friends.

When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing?

In 5 years from now, will you remember what you did yesterday?  What about the day before that?  Or the day before that?
- No, probably not, nothing special has happened.

Decisions are being made right now.  The question is:  Are you making them for yourself, or are you letting others make them for you?
- My decisions, are mine. I decide on what path I follow, not anyone else.

I hope that you liked this post. If you decide to do these questions, post me the link in the comments :)

DIY Home Decor Ideas.

Hey Everyone :)

So today I thought that I'd share with you some really cool home decor DIYs that I found on some blogs.

1. DIY Flower Wall Art.

I really love the look of this wall art! It's pretty cheap as well as you can use things that you find lying around in your house, such as the paper for the actual design. You could use any scraps of paper you can find, old newspapers, magazines, scrapbook paper, wallpaper scraps anything you can find.

2. DIY Rustic Mason Jar Vases

I absolutely love these! I think that they could look pretty in any room, I'd put these in a bright kitchen or hallway. They just add a little bit of beautiful into a room. They're pretty easy to make as well!

3. DIY Maritime Map Letters

I think that this design would look cute in a bathroom or beach themed room. But you could design the letters into any theme you want. You could give it as a gift for valentines day with a lovey dove theme, or a map with where you met or married your partner, the possibilities are endless.

4. DIY Glow Jars.

These are super cheap to make, and they would look so pretty at a night time event for the summer, a BBQ at the beach, in your back garden, outdoor parties, or just hanging out with your friends. I am definitely going to make some of these when I have some parties. I also think that they could look really cute in your bedroom as a dim night light.

5.  DIY Hexagon Wall Art.

I think that this could look really nice in any room, in any house. You can use any colours or patterns you like, or that fit into your room's theme. You could even add mirrors or photographs to some of the hexagons to personalise it.

6. DIY Framed Snapshots With Letters.

I think that this could be a really cute gift to a friend or family member. You could have the letters saying anything, and as many or little photographs as you like. I think it could look cute with family member spelling out their names and framing it in your family house.

7.  DIY Paint Chip Wall Art.

I love how these look! I love collecting paint samples and paint chips, and I never really know what to do with them. I think that this could look really nice and any shapes and colours could be used. I like the effect of the ombre colours on the canvas'. It is also relatively cheap to make and it's very easy to make.

I hope that you enjoyed this post. I love looking through Pintrest for inspiration and through other people's blogs. Here is some that caught my eyes and I'd love to create and show in my home. Let me know if you've created any of these or have any other DIY home decor ideas :)

DIY Journal / Notepad.

Hey Everyone :)

So I've got yet another DIY for you all. I really enjoyed making this and it looks so nice as well. Its a journal. I like to doodle a lot and its usually on random pages, so I created this to keep it all tidy in one place. You could use these for anything; shopping lists, to do lists, journalling or drawing.

This journal is real easy to create and you can create it any size you like and any design you like.

You will need:
Cereal box (or card).
Fabric or paper with a design you like.
Ruler.
Scissors.
Glue.
Sewing needle.
Thread or string.

Firstly you have to cut the cereal box to what size you want your journal to be, I cut it about an inch shorter on all sides than its original size. Once you've cut it to size glue it to your desired fabric or paper with and inch or 2 of spare fabric around the cardboard.

Then you glue all of the sides down, with cutting the corners diagonally so that the fabric or paper can sit nicely.

Once you have stuck the fabric or paper down, cut a piece of decorative paper to the inside of the cover, leave 1cm around the edges so the fabric or paper is visible. To make sure that the paper stayed in this place I added a little stitch or each corner of the paper through to the cover.

Then fold the paper in half to create the cover and bend in the journal. Also make sure that it all aligns correctly.

Next add a button to the outside of the cover, this will be used to fasten the journal. You can use any button you have along as thread can fit underneath it.

Now decide how many pages you want in your journal. Once decided cut down some paper to fit into your notebook, about 1/2cm smaller than the cover. Fold the paper in half. I used 9 sheets of paper, so I had 18 pages to doodle and write on.

Using your ruler measure every 2 cm and make a small mark. Then using a needle, poke through the cover, this will make it a lot easier to sew the paper onto the cover.

Then, align the paper to the notebook where you want it to be placed (mine is 1/2cm from each edge). Then do a running stitch through the paper and cover along the fold. Do this in both directions, up and then back down to make sure the stitch goes along the whole fold.

This is the finished product. I folded a piece of thread (3 1/2 times longer than the width of the journal) in half and looped it around the button and around the journal twice. You could use anything you'd like to fasten your journal together.

I created one with a paper cover and one with a fabric cover. I found the fabric cover a lot easier to work with as it folded nicely around the cereal box, whereas the paper creased and didn't look as neat.

I really enjoyed making this and I love the outcome of how it looked. If any of you do create this let me know through Twitter or Instagram. :)

DIY In A Frame.

Hey :)

So I've been wanting to do another DIY post for ages but I just haven't had time with sorting my room out and I got a summer job as well. But here's a quick and simple one for you.

I picked up some paint colour swatches from a builders merchant the other day and I knew that I could think of quite a few things that I could do with them, and this is one of them, I'm also going to show you some more DIYs with paint swatches and I'll put them in some post throughout the week :)

For this you will need:
A frame.
Paint Swatches or coloured paper. your choice of colours.
Glue.
Scissors.

You firstly need to choose what shapes you want to use, i decided on hearts as they're cute and pretty easy to cut. I also decided to create an ombre effect with the colours, I used pink shades, blue shades and green shades. You can obviously change the shape and colours you want to do.

Because i wanted to use hearts I decided to show you an easy way to cut out hearts. Simply fold he piece in half and draw one side of the heart, cut it with the paper folded, open it and tadah you've got a heart. :)

After I cut out all of the hearts I arranged them on some paper to see how I wanted them to look, I came up with this, I then stuck all of the hearts to the paper. A tip, draw the size of the glass to keep your design in view. Then put the frame all back together, and you've got a lovely, cute home decor.

Although you can see the fold down the middle of the hearts I kind of like it as it makes it look more well put together. I really like how this looks and I do think that it can look nice anywhere with any size frame and any shapes and colours. You could do loads of bright colours and shapes of animals for a kids room, or kitchen utensils in the colour theme of your kitchen, the list is endless.

I hope that you liked this and if you decide to create it, let me know. :)

Packing Up Student Room & Finishing The Second Year Of Uni.

I missed posting so many days as I had to pack up my entire student room to go home, and then unpack everything, and everything has just been crazy! So I thought that I would give you some tips on how to pack everything up to fit well into your car.

All of my housemates went home a few weeks ago and as my boyfriend lives where I go to uni I decided to stay a little longer so spend sometime with him. Because I haven't really been to my house and sorted anything out it was a mess! I had to tidy the mess and organise it, then clean the room thoroughly to make sure that I get my deposit back.

• First of I threw all the rubbish out and everything that I haven't used all year to stop myself from packing useless things.

• I then decided on how to pack, I had 3 suitcases, a huge one, a medium one, and a small one. I decided to pack all of my clothes and coats into black bin bags so they can be put in smaller spaces and because I put all of my shoes, makeup, hair stuff and jewellery into my big suitcase, which was a struggle to do up hah! I then put all of my DVDs, books, photographs and university work into the medium suitcase which it all fit perfectly. And then in all my handbags and bag packs I put all of the other bits and bobs I had in my room.

• I washed all towels and all my bedding and put them into bin bags as well.

• After packing everything, which took a good 2-3 hours I had to clean. I dusted all the surfaces and wiped them down, hoovered the floor and took off all of the blu-tac of the walls.

It all took a long time, and was quite sad as it was almost the end of an era. Looking at the difference before I tidied the room and after was crazy! I'm a really messy person so there was my stuff all of the walls and sides. I am the queen of the floordrobes!

So, I've just finished my second year of university studying Advertising and Brand Design. And I thought that I'd share with you a little bit of how my experience of the second year of university was, and the house that I lived in.

So, this year I lived with three people that I lived with in my first year, who I absolutely love! But we had 3 other people living with us as well, that I was friends with in my first year. But I hated living with the 3 new people. They were 3 boys, 3 of the messiest, untidy, dirtiest boys I have ever known, they had no respect for the house and they had no common sense, don't get me wrong, I got on with them, and I did like them, but not when it came down to the house. Tip 1: Don't live with people that are messy and untidy if you know it'll bother you! I didn't think that they would be this bad, but it got to the point that they would never do the washing up or clean at all! I had to go out and buy my own plates, cutlery, cups and pans to keep in my room. It kind of pushed me out of the group a bit as I was the one that nagged about the cleaning when the other people in my house wouldn't. Tip 2: Don't do all the nagging yourself, or don't leave one person to do the nagging, everyone that gets annoyed should make a point of saying something!  Even through all of this though, I still had a really good year! Although it has annoyed me for the past 9 months, I know that in 5-10 years time I'll look back and it won't be a big deal.

Finishing the second year of university was a bit stressful for me, as I find it extremely hard to concentrate on my work when living with 6 other people, so as most students do, I left everything to the last minute, and I found out yesterday that I did pass and I am going onto third year, which I am so happy about!! The projects this year were a lot harder than in the third year as they actually make you work hah, but I did learn a lot this year, I realised what I wanted my career to be, as in the first year I had no idea where I was going. I also had to write my dissertation proposal, which I was terrified about writing, but I've chosen a good topic -psychology, and colour pyschology of advertising and branding- so I am actually kind of excited to be writing 8,000 words(!!!!!) about that next year.

I know this is a post maybe only interesting or helpful for some of you, but I thought that it is a helpful post :) … I will be doing some more DIYs soon when I'm back and settled home properly :)
I hope that you liked this post.

DIY Key Covers.

Hey! I found a simple, easy way to tell apart your keys when you get confused. And all you need is your keys and nail varnish. Although any type of paint would work just as well.

Firstly decide what colours you want, I chose pink, blue and green as they're all bright and bold.

One of my keys had a design on it, that was wearing off, so as an experiment I decided to paint all of it green.

I had to do about 2-3 coats on each of the keys to make sure it was bold and there was no streaks through it. I didn't wait properly for the coats to dry so that made it difficult, so as a tip, make sure that the first coat is completely dry!!

For the green key I had to do about 4ish coats, and again, wait for the coats to dry.

I do really like how they look, however, i would advise not to paint a whole key with a pattern as it used a lot of nail varnish. It so easy, and simple to do!

I hope you enjoyed this post! :)
